APAC was founded on July 1, 2018. Founding member schools are Holy Ghost Preparatory School, La Salle College High School, Malvern Preparatory School, and St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. The Hun School joined APAC in May 2020.
APAC MEMBERSHIP
All member teams (Varsity and Junior Varsity) in the APAC must be under the direction and control of the school’s Athletic Director and have the support of their Administration. Member schools cannot designate a non-school official or group (i.e., parent board) to manage or otherwise govern the responsibility of their programs. All teams and players must be properly registered with required governing bodies.
JOINING APAC
All schools interested in joining the APAC must complete the application process as outlined below. A school is eligible for membership when its application is approved by a majority vote of the member schools.
Application
Application for membership must include a formal written request to the Commissioner of the APAC (Steve Mackell: s_mackell@outlook.com) by the Director of Athletics from the interested school. In this letter, the school should include its Mission Statement and athletic philosophy. The applying school must also provide:
- its admissions profile, the school’s policy on post-graduate admissions, awarding of scholarships, and financial aid
- any traditional, league or state commitments that the school will hope to maintain in addition to APAC commitments
- the athletic facilities available and scheduling flexibility for hosting contests
- competitive history for the last 2 years against current APAC members and/or common opponents.
The application and documentation must be submitted to the APAC Commissioner and will be reviewed and voted on by the APAC representatives at their spring meeting.
FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
The Athletic Directors of the APAC Schools will approve a budget at their spring meeting with established payment dates for member schools. New schools to the APAC understand that membership requires a financial commitment as set by the respective Athletic Directors.
EXPENSE/PROFIT
All expenses for the APAC Playoffs and Awards will be assumed by the Conference. The APAC Treasurer will keep member schools current regarding APAC account activity.
